Christian Education fosters learning about faith, love, and hope – through a Bible-based curriculum that seeks to enrich both our Sunday School students and their teachers.

At the end of this class the students are given the opportunity to make their public profession of faith and become active members of our congregation. The confirmation service takes place during our 11:00 a.m. worship in late April every year. High School youth lessons are based on the book Bible Lessons for Youth.

June – August

We have Summer Sunday School, beginning with an intergenerational musical during June that is performed in worship on the last Sunday of the month.

This, we have a new summer Sunday School starting July 12 that looks at PCUSA young adult missionaries across the USA and the world. Our itinerary will be:

  • July 12 - Ghana
  • July 19 - Hollywood, CA
  • July 26 - Peru
  • August 2 - Northern Ireland
  • August 9 - Guatemala
  • August 16 - Tucson, AZ and Nogales, Mexico
  • August 23 - India
  • August 30 - Metairie, LA
  • September 6 (Labor Day Weekend) - No Sunday School

Come travel with us as we learn what young Presbyterians are doing to help others in all parts of the world. We will be collecting a Sunday School offering to fight against hunger!

All classes this summer will begin at 9:45. In July and August, classes meet in the fellowship hall to learn a hymn before breaking into discussion groups.

Sunday School for Adults

September – May

We host two Sunday School classes for adults: Discovery, an in-depth study of the Bible and its meaning, and Living in Faith, a look at selected Biblical passages and how they apply to everyday life. Discovery meets in the Parlor. Living in Faith meets in Room 109 in the Education Wing.

June-August

Adults are invited to join in our intergenerational musical beginning June 7 in the choir room. Have fun and cut loose a little! In July, join the youth to look at the missionaries of the PCUSA, and in August, join David Huffman for a “Bible 101” class that gives a good introductory overview of the Bible. This class will be held in Room 109 in the Education Wing.
